With all the craze recently over the health effects of the Acai Berry. I decided to do some research of my own and here is what I found.

Purported Claims and Proven Facts

Some of the health benefit claims of consuming Acai are:

  • Increase in sustained energy
  • Cholesterol management
  • Improvement of digestive system
  • Strengthening immune system
  • Weight loss

However, it is important to note that no research has officially backed these claims up, and it is also important to note that some products are not as potent as others because of the fact that Acai loses its potency if it is not fresh and kept cool.

What is known about Acai for a fact are the following:

  • High protein content
  • Antioxidant spectrum contains more than any other food source
  • Anthocyanins content is 30 times the amount of red grapes
  • Mineral spectrum is as complete, if not more complete than any other food source.
  • High levels of Glucosamine, which is known to help the joints.

The Scams

Below are two of the most popular scams on the internet. The reason why I am calling them scams is not because they don’t contain Acai, but because they make promises to their customers, and don’t fulfill them.
On their site they advertise to “Try a Free Trial” for a very small sum of money. However, they make it extremely difficult for the consumer to cancel, and in some cases they charge the consumer $80+ before they have even received their product for them to try out.

And please note that if a company would go through that trouble and do business as shady as the ones above, you can almost bet you are not getting the purest quality of Acai. So why bother?

Acai You Can Trust

Below are three items I actually trust. And the reason why I trust them above the others is because I have not been able to find any negative feedback regarding them being a scam on the internet. Couple
that with the fact that you are buying them from highly reputable companies like the Vitamin Shoppe as opposed to Acai Berry Supreme which has been known to guarantee a free trial, only to then charge customers over $80.00 for a bottle.
